![]() ![]() I use Nova and had a numbered badge briefly. I would suggest you try to adopt this paradigm shift, which will likely be more useful after overcoming the initial hurdle. Ultimately, iOS has recognized this shortcoming and in iOS14 began revamping the notification center to better resemble Android's drawer. They are two different approaches to solve the same problem. iOS users have to change from badges to notification icons and the drawer. Android users moving to iOS have to start relying on notification badges. Thus, one of the biggest paradigm shifts for converts is this difference. Android has always been very notification drawer-focused. Historically, iOS had a poor notification center that few users found meaningful. Just some things like the notification differences are really annoying when you're used to something else. I will say though, I'm overall pleased with my switch from iPhone to Pixel. OP which one did you end up using? I haven't done any research yet but will be soon. Guess I'll be looking for a new launcher. I could snooze I guess but I'd rather the dot just stay until I'm ready than get another notification. I also like to clear notifications so the AOD has a big time until I get a new notification and clearing it makes the dot go away too (I think). I find the number much more helpful than the tiny dot I can barely see, but I'd be satisfied if it was at least persistent and didn't just poof when I opened the app even if I didn't read the actual message/email. I didn't read their message (because I didn't see it) and when I exited the app the dot disappeared. I must have opened the messages app when I had a message from someone and didn't realize it. I just missed a text message for 2 days for about this reason.
